This is a signed mini home plate with the farewell logo commemorating Cal Ripken Jr.'s career with the Orioles. In 2001 Cal Ripken Jr. made his farewell tour. Ripken continued to make an imprint in the baseball world as he homered in his final All-Star Game appearance. Ripken was awarded with the All Star game MVP award as well as the Commissioners' Historic Achievement Award. The Orioles honored Ripken by creating this logo tracing his time with the team and his achievements as a player during their final series of the season. Ripken is one of only seven players in history to reach the 400 home runs and 3,000 hit plateaus, joining Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray, Stan Musial, Dave Winfield & Carl Yastrzemski.  He retired having played in 3001 games (8th all-time), 3,184 hits (13th all-time), 431 career homers (30th all-time) and held or shared 11 Major League or American League fielding records.  Ripken will be eligible for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 2007.
