Emile Griffith Hand Signed Everlast Boxing Glove. This is an Everlast Boxing Glove hand signed by Emile Griffith. In March 1962, Emile Griffith and Benny “Kid” Paret met for the third time in a welterweight title fight at Madison Square Garden. After absorbing a series of unanswered blows in the 12th round, Paret collapsed and never regained consciousness, he died ten days later. The fight and its aftermath - including criticism of referee Ruby Goldstein and calls for the sport's abolition - are examined in the film, "RING OF FIRE : THE EMILE GRIFFITH STORY".
